A DAY AT KNIGHTSWOOD
Once you have visited and decided to join us, you’ll be eagerly anticipating your weekly trip to Knightswood Day Care Centre.
The companionship and camaraderie begin before you arrive. You will be collected from home by a two-person team of driver and carer in a specially adapted mini-bus with tail lift for wheelchair users. On arrival at our countryside setting, you will be welcomed with tea, coffee and biscuits.
You cannot be bored at Knightswood Day Care Centre - unless you want to be. A broad range of activities is on hand to help keep your mind and body active. You can fill every day with whatever you want to do. No one will try to make you join in with something you choose not to do.
Seated exercise encourages movement, or you can exercise your mind with quizzes, crosswords or our extensive collection of board games. If you prefer, art and craft facilities and equipment are on hand or you can spend some quiet time with a book from our library. Lunch is served in a restaurant-style dining room where our carers wait on your every need.
Your afternoon can be spent choosing activities to suit your mood. Something active or maybe a little more relaxing. Afternoon tea and cakes are served and from time to time, guest acts visit to entertain you. Musicians, singers, storytellers – there’s sure to be something you enjoy.
At the end of the day, we drive you home and settle you in, looking forward to your next day at Knightswood Day Care Centre.
